Obituary for
Helen J. Rosengrant
Helen J. Rosengrant, 89, of Scranton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Geisinger Community Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Ray Rosengrant.
Born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Edward E. and Helen Morgan Edwards, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School and a lifelong member of the Jackson Street Baptist Church. Helen cherished quality time with her sister, playing bingo, reading, and occasional trips to the casino.
While Helen held a few part time jobs over the years, her passion was raising her family. Helen’s home was filled with love, welsh cookies, and Christmas cut-outs, and everyone who knew her loved her. She holds a special place in so many hearts. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are daughters Alyce DeAntona and husband Joe, Scranton, Linda Voris, Throop, RaeAnn Umlah and husband Joseph, Ocean, NJ, Barbara Lemoncelli and husband Jay, Lake Sheridan, Lori Stetzar and husband Bill, with whom she resided, Scranton; son Paul Rosengrant and companion Lisa, Lakewood, NJ; grandchildren Craig Mailen (Tina), Michael Voris (Brooke), Kristen Kuipers (Ed), Jason Umlah (Michele), Jessica Donati (Mike), Marc DeAntona (Crystal), Nicol Lindsay (Ryan), Thomas Lemoncelli (Francesca), Matthew Rosengrant (Kelly), Zachary Rosengrant (Dajah), Taylor Stetzar, and Cole Stetzar; 14 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; sister Peggy Gerek; several nieces and nephews, and her furry friend, Roxy.
She was preceded in death by infant granddaughter Caryn Umlah.
Due to COVID restrictions, private funeral services will be held in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s memory to the St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Ave. Scranton, PA 18509.
