Obituary for Jeanne M. Paulin

Jeanne M.  Paulin
Jeanne M. Paulin,98, a resident at Marywood Heights Care Center, died Sunday January 10, 2021 at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was the widow of Pierre Paulin and was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Streznetcky.
Born in Paris France, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Camille Fabre. In 1946, she traveled to the United States with her husband Frank, whom she met and married in Paris, France during WWII. She taught herself English and raised a family in the United States. However, her heart always belonged to Paris.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Community Medical Center of Scranton as a Nurse’s Aid, a job she was passionate about. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church until its closing, and is now a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.
Jeanne was a devoted mother and grandmother and always put others before herself. She loved pets and always had a dog or cat by her side. Jeanne also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, QVC, and tending to her flower garden.
Surviving are her children, Nicole Fox, Frank Streznetcky, James Streznetcky and wife Bernadette, Elaine Chernesky and husband John; grandchildren, Denise, Carl, William, April, Jeffrey, Jennifer, James, Jessica, Stacy, and Stefanie; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Streznetcky; a sister, Simone and two brothers, Albert and Emile.
The funeral will be conducted on Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. All attending are reminded of the state guidelines, masks will be required and social distancing enforced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA 18411.
