Bernard Anthony Krupka Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019 at the age of 70. He was born February 16, 1948 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He spent his early years residing in North Scranton where he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Church. His family moved to Clark Summit, PA and he graduated from Abington Heights High School. Following graduation, Ben entered the Air Force and served five years in the USAF Security Service including 18 months in the Philippines and three years in Germany. He retired in 2010 from the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and has resided in Peckville, PA for the past several years.
Ben is survived by his mother, Lillian Krupka; two sisters and their husbands, Carol and Sheridan Kramer, Marion and Tom Reef; two nieces and their husbands, Katherine and Ashley Hunt, Elizabeth and Benjamin Smith and a nephew, William and his wife Tricia Kennedy Kramer. His father Bernard Krupka, Sr. predeceased him in 1997. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 1101 Willow St. Peckville, at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Internment will be at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Allied Services Hospice Center, 511 Morgan Highway, PO Box 1103, Scranton, PA 18501-1103.
