John Patrick Walsh, 69, of West Scranton passed away unexpectedly at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife of 45 years is the former Ann Spinelli.
Born in Glenshaw, Alleghany County, he was the son of the late John and Anna Mae Gallenz Walsh. A proud Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was employed by the Tobyhanna Army Depot prior to his retirement.
He was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church and an avid, expert gardener. His favorite hobby was making beautiful furniture and keepsakes for his family, of which they have many to treasure. Pat was always there when anyone needed him to offer a helping hand, was loved by all and will be sorely missed.
Also surviving is a daughter, Kelly and husband Jon, Colorado; a brother, Joseph Walsh and wife Gina, Allison Park, Pa.; Sister in-law, Fran Bartocci, Scranton, Brother in-law, Philip Spinelli and wife Anne, Scranton; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St. Interment with military honors will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects Monday 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
