Frances DiNapoli, age 79, of Scranton, died Friday, October 5, 2018, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore. Her husband of 54 years is Vito DiNapoli.
Born in Caltabellotta, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Acursia Pontini Leo.
Frances was a long standing member of Amalgamated Union.
Frances loved gardening, cooking, animals and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Frances was a devoted Catholic and belonged to St. Ann’s Basilica Parish. She had a deep admiration for Padra Pio.
Also surviving is a daughter, Margherita and husband Peter Sabia, Jr., Dunmore; sister, Lillian Leo, Scranton; her grandchildren, Peter, Vito and Anthony Sabia, all of Dunmore and Sabrina DiNapoli, Katy, Texas; daughter in law, Tina DiNapoli, Katy, Texas; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Salvatore DiNapoli; a sister, Josephine Colletti; three brothers, Mariano “Mario”, Francesco “Frank” and Acursio Leo.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Sebastianelli, Maria McGraw and the caring staff of Hospice of Sacred Heart.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home, Inc., 1030 N. Main Avenue with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Ann Basilica Parish, 1230 St. Ann Street. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
