Joseph Ciullo, Jr. of Scranton passed away Saturday February 10, 2018 at the Doylestown Hospital following a courageous battle with Myotonic Dystrophy. His family was by his side. His wife of 38 years is the former Joanne Weiss.
Born in Old Forge, he was the son of Helen Sklarsky Ciullo and the late Joseph Ciullo.
He was a 1973 graduate of Old Forge High School and was employed by the Scranton Sewer Authority for over 29 years.
Joe was a member of the Mary, Mother of God Parish, and the Teamsters Local #229. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He played the guitar for over thirty years in several local bands in the Scranton area and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jill Lutz and husband Nathan, Pittsburgh; two sons, Joseph and Marc, both of Scranton; two grandchildren, Martina and Keenan; a sister, Marianne Perkins; a brother, Phillip; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Anthony.
The funeral will be conducted on Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William Street. All that wish to attend the funeral are asked to proceed directly to church.
Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Guido-Fiorillo Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave.
