William K. "Bill" Nasser Jr.
William “Bill” K. Nasser, Jr., CPA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 28, 2018 at the age of 64.
Bill was born to the late William K. Nasser, Sr. and Catherine Esseff Nasser and raised in Scranton, PA. He graduated from Scranton Central High School. He attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA and received a Bachelor of Accounting from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was a longtime certified public accountant at Nasser and Company in Dunmore, PA, which his father founded in 1943. He served on several bank boards, including Community Bank NA, First National Bank of Jermyn, and Hawley Bank. For decades, he also served on the board of Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services.
Bill had a boundless, enthusiastic energy, and a helpful giving heart. He was a man of wisdom, humor, insight, brilliance, and passion. He worked tirelessly to guide, support, and provide for others. Bill was proud of his children, grandchildren, and his two beloved dogs, Cammy and Lilly. His legacy will always be deeply rooted in the lives he touched as a father, grandfather, partner, friend, advisor, neighbor, and philanthropist.
Surviving are his children; William K. Nasser III and his wife Tami Prall Nasser, Scranton, PA; Katie Nasser-Karlsson and her husband Robert Karlsson, Stockholm, Sweden; Patrick Nasser and his wife Melissa St. Ledger, S. Abington Twp., PA; Michael Nasser, Scranton, PA; Maggie Nasser Martinelli and her husband Eric Martinelli, Dickson City, PA; the mother of his children Donna Walsh Nasser, Dalton, PA, and his grandchildren Maia, Sofia, Elliot, Miles, and Pearl. His life partner Marie Mulea, Throop, PA, and her daughter Dana McHugh and her husband Kyle McHugh; her son David Devereaux and his wife Jennifer Devereaux; and her grandchildren Conor, Calla, Ava, Anibel, and Abigail. His sister Theresa Nasser Yohn and her husband Richard Yohn, Cumberland, PA; brother Joseph Nasser and his wife Carol Zanghi Nasser, Throop, PA; brother John Nasser; nieces Christina Nasser-Thomas, Ashley Tucky, Leandra Coolbaugh, and Mary Kate Barke, as well as extended family and loved ones.
We wish to offer our gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU unit of Geisinger Community Medical Center who provided such compassionate care for our father and family. In particular, we want to recognize Dr. Julio Ramos, Dr. Eric Blomain, Katie Miller, RN, and Megan Cadden, RN.
Friends may call Friday, February 2nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N Abington Road, Clarks Green, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, February 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
